The Backstory

Why I Became a Loan Officer

"At 24 years old, I got absolutely screwed on my first home purchase."

I was young, I barely had any money, and I was making an FHA purchase. The loan officer I was referred to had no clue what he was doing. Everything he told me throughout the process was wrong. On closing day, my cash to close changed by $5,000. The experience was so bad it scarred me from ever wanting to buy a house again.

But that terrible experience is exactly why I became a loan officer. I realized there were thousands of other first-time buyers getting the exact same treatment - confused, blindsided, and too scared to ask the questions they needed to ask. I knew I could do better.

Since then, my teams and I have helped over 1,500 homebuyers get to the closing table. I make sure every client knows exactly what to expect. I explain everything upfront and in simple terms. And most importantly - no surprises on closing day.

I didn't start at the top. I started as a loan officer assistant - learning the process from the ground up, handling files, and seeing firsthand what borrowers go through behind the scenes. From there I earned my way to loan officer, then branch manager, and now Head of Direct to Consumer at Mpire Financial. Every role taught me something different, and each one made me better at the one that came next.

Along the way, my teams and I have helped over 1,500 homebuyers get to the closing table. Some of those were my clients directly. Others were borrowers I helped guide by training and mentoring the loan officers working alongside me. Either way, the standard has always been the same - clear communication, honest expectations, and no surprises.

Today, my work centers on simplifying the mortgage process, expanding access to homeownership, and building modern systems that combine education, technology, and real human guidance. I specialize in purchase loans, VA and FHA financing, and helping clients understand their options clearly before they ever feel rushed or pressured.

Beyond the Office

Family First

Outside of work, I'm a husband and father. I'm married to my wife Katie, and we have two kids - Carter and Collins. Family keeps my priorities grounded and reinforces why trust, stability, and long-term thinking matter so much in this industry.
